[Feedback]
I'd like to address some of the comments given yesterday.
To those reading this to keep up on my life... Don't worry, I'll keep doing that. I'm just going to focus on the things that are important, not the mundane. Occasionally, I may rampage, but that doesn't happen very often :)
First, how many "Unique" Visitors do you have Weekly? Meaning, new to you and have never been to your website before:
Well, that depends. If I do what I did yesterday, and post a link to the page from google and twitter, I got about 80 hits, 15 of which were returns. However, 37 of those people just typed in Kikastrophe.blogspot.com and didn't come from a referring site. (Yes, I'm tracking this. This is my "technological experiment" referred to in THIS post. ) On an average day, say, in the middle of last week, like... friday, when there's no referring links, there were 27 unique visitors, with 12 of those being returning visitors. So, yes, there's traffic and there's more than most people think :)Second, out of those that do come here, how many know you personally, and how many come just to read your melodramatic Rampages?
First, I'd like to point out that lately, there have been no melodramatic rampages, recently. I say recently lightly, cause what some people might describe as melodramatic may not be my definition. Don't shoot me for that, its not intentional. As for who knows me personally? I have several loyal readers. People who check back here every day. (Yes, I know this) But to answer your question, I don't know. Do you have enough content to post a well thought up, well constructed post at the bare minimum every other day?
Haha.. I've been wanting to post things multiple times a day. I don't want to overload people though, so I've slowly been putting out one a day. I have multiple drafts, and posts that I've been collecting data for, for weeks. If there's a day I can't post, I have several ready to go. As for well thought up, well constructed? I'm still learning how to write well, and that's where all of your feedback come in. I like to go back and reread things I write a couple days later, and apparently other people like the way I write. But, as for a professional writer? I'm going to take some classes, and do lots of research. -> See this huge list on the said of my blog? Of blogs linked? I read every one of those. I pop in and out and keep updated, and comment where necessary. From these blogs, I've been learning what I like to read, and what people comment on, what people say and do that keeps people coming back. To answer your question, I have enough content, as for their quality for the professional world, that'll probably come with time. Are you really willing to throw yourself in the limelight for all manners of Trolls, haters and ignorant people who are just full of [crap] But will say incredibly mean, heartless, stuff just to get you upset?
How do I learn otherwise? If anything, the last couple weeks which have been kind of full of [crap] have taught me how to handle this kind of thing. Could I do it a year ago? No. I deleted comments a year ago I didn't like. It was MY blog, and I didn't like people who were mad at me for my opinions. Even a couple of months ago, it would have hurt and destroyed me to have people saying the stuff they do now. But, at this point in time, the 'all manners of trolls haters and ignorant people full of [crap] are those that just don't like me for some reason. * shrug * There's nothing I can do about that. At this point in time, I haven't posted about anything controversial... yet. So there's nothing for them to really get upset about. The things I learn here, also help me in real life. Water off a ducks back. Who cares. I don't delete the comments that are given. Sucks for you if everyone disapproves of you for the things you say, and how you say them.
Now, the people who provide negative feedback for the sake of providing feedback, I welcome with open arms. I'm always looking for negative feedback. I tell all my friends to tell me when I'm doing something wrong, or saying something wrong. How else do you learn? How do you grow? How do you get better? Those with negative remarks about the things I write, and specifically the things I write, spark debate, and intelligent conversation, as long as the feedback is intelligent. Haha. I laugh at the people who show their immaturity and hypocrisy in their comments. (see Facebook status :D )
Are you willing to remove People from your block/ignore list, and open yourself to their opinions of you, your actions and your thoughts?
At this point, I have no one on my block/ignore list. I don't even know how to do that, and don't want to find out. If you spam my blog, maybe someday, I'll figure it out. But, again, I haven't deleted any comments relating to opinions of me, however vague they may be. If we're referring to the 2 posts that caused lots of controversy, that has been amended, apologies were sent, and all posts relating to that, or calling attention to it have been made private. Nothing was deleted.
"great now youre deluding yourself to think that youre important to other people somehow. do us a favor and keep your little thoughts in your little head."
However, its comments like these that help me grow, and realize that people can be stupid, and there's nothing I can do about it. So, to the writer of that comment, thank you.
Are you willing to grow up your mental attitude towards life in general? There are things in your recent history that if they were to come to public attention. (and the internet has a long memory) can you handle this kind of blanket in-your-face Name smearing and character defamation?
I'd like to think my posts as of recently can answer that. I'd like to think that I'm growing up. Throwing myself into the fire is a great way to grow up. As for things in my recent history? There's no scandals, cheating, or any manner of nasty horrible things. The things that have happened, Break ups, loss of friendships, happen to everyone. I've done my best, and I know who I am. Plus, they probably came to public attention as it happened, somewhere earlier in the blog.
As I have now answered those, please feel free to comment.
