[It must be Socorro's fault - Rear Ended]

LIGHTNING STORM!  For those of you not in Utah, there was AMAZING Lightning storm for the last 24 hours.  It seemed to be non stop. I have been waiting for a storm like this for years.  I always miss the stupid thunderstorms.   I ran to UVU to drop off my petitions (my grades have been changed! Now to let them clear up their mess) and even as I was walking into UVU, Lightning flashed across the sky, and for the first time in my life, I heard a Thunder Clap... not the regular rumbling of lightning from a distance.  It was right above me.  I was inside for 3 minutes, and when I came back, it was pouring.  After my Brake Experience the day before, it put a dampener on my "lets set up my room" experience.

So, I grabbed Socorro, and we headed back to my apartment.  As we passed through University Avenue, we noticed all the lights in front of us were out. At the first light, there was even a dude directing traffic so it didn't turn into a stop sign situation.  The next light, however had no one, so it was a Stop Sign situation.  Stop. Go. Stop. Go. Stop. Go.  I was 1 car away from passing through the light, and Suddenly I was thrown forward in my seat. With a force that caused my seatbelt to lock and my head through whiplash to strike the back of my seat.  Socorro was sitting forward, so I don't think she had as much whiplash.

"What was that?" She asked.

This has got to be like my 4th time getting rear ended in my little car.  My poor car has been through a lot.  There was that time we were rear ended during General Conference, and my radio flew out.

Or the time I got the tire stuck in the gutter.

Or the time that I got smashed by an SUV.

Anyways, I looked in my rear view, and saw a guy clutching his head in an "oh my gosh how could I do that." I flipped my blinker on.  I was in the middle lane, and had to move out of traffic.  ( I HATE people who hang around in traffic instead of moving to the side)  So I went through the light and pulled over waiting for the guy behind me to come up.  He never came.  We got out and looked at the car, and saw that there was a puncture in my car, and a couple scratches on the back bumper.  The thing is, my car is plastic.  So, dents don't really happen.  We got back in the car and continued back down the hill towards my house. At the bottom of the hill, there was a dark car with its hazard lights on, and it pulled out and got behind us and flashed his lights.  I waved at him through my window to alert him I saw him, and he got out of his car at the next light.

He had taken pictures of the dude who hit me.  I have a license plate and a face to attribute to my hurt neck.  Oh boy!  Thank goodness for friendly neighborhood citizens who look out for each other.  He got my email and sent me the pics.  And voila.  I now have a case for the police, as the cameras were out on the traffic lights due to the power outage.

We got food, and went on with our daily lives.  However, both things happened in the same 24 hour period....  It must be Socorro's fault. .... my poor car.
P.S. Check out my 101 in 1001  and see how I'm doing!

Wow, what a jerk to leave the scene of an accident like that. Thank goodness for good citizens at the ready though. I can't wait to hear how this turns out.

Not my fault, that's all I have to say... I wasn't around for ANY of the rest of the series of unfortunate events that have ruined your car...
