[ Murder Mystery ]

A very Squad tradition is a Murder Mystery. These are self contained mysteries in a box. They come with little booklets that contain information about you and stuff about other people.

The stuff about other people correlates to the stuff they have about themselves... For example, in your book, it might say: You saw so-and-so doing this the other day... and in so-and-so's book it says, you did this the other day because..... Now you can say... "I saw you doing this! WHY?!" and they can answer.

This last one we did, I ended up secretly marrying a gay guy, who didn't know I married him. And, had the president assassinated, because he wouldn't help me get the judge to stop tearing down my house!

Oh, and Alex was secretly in love with me.

The Game starts out with us listening to a cd, where someone explains the situation to us, and we read the map and listen to the clues.

Somehow, Stephanie always ends up pregnant in every game, and we've played 4.   The first time, she was secretly married to Christopher. The 2nd game, she was supposedly the temple virgin.... (and I think Ben ended up as her dad? no. She got together with Ben, and Chris was also Ben's son. ( I remember now, Ben and Chris ended up in an "i'm your father" Star wars rap fight) )
The 3rd one, she had 'something baking inside" but no one got the reference, and this last time, she had a secret affair with the Deceased...

Kristen always ends up with the affair. When someone asks you a question, you can kind of dodge the question but you can't lie... but in dodging the question you might implicate yourself, and screw up the story.  Its gotten to the point where people will say "direct question" after a normal question.

After the games, we always have quotes that are generally quoted everywhere else like:

Steph (To cory): how... did you kill.... the women?
Kristen: What does Jack the Zipper do?
Cory: I punched him... IN THE FACE!
Christopher: What? I'm not KKK.. I have hispanic parts, black parts, chinese parts, White parts.
Steph: Alex, are you gay? Direct question.
Kristen: (Directed at ben) Are you gay? Direct question... Alex: Not again...

When we play, we go all out.  Its all improv, and we all act like we really are the characters.  A good example, and probably one of the most classic of all the scenarios:

Unfortunately, they're out of print, but I'm looking for other groups to play these with.  The Halloween was the best of them all I think.  And If anyone knows where I can get another one, that'd be great!

Anyways. I highly recommend this to people who want something to do.  There's not alot of acting involved, it walks you through the mystery step by step.  Its a great way to do a quadruple date when you're trying to get to know people.

Usually EVERYBODY ends up with an affair, not just me.
