A Great Story
So... 2 days ago, my roommate Jasmine wandered out asking to use my internet to look up bus routes.
me: where are you trying to go?
her: walmart
me: oh, just use 830, it runs right past here, it'll take you right down to uvsc, and drop you off across the street from walmart.
her: really oh cool. will it just let me off there or do i have to do something to let them know i need to get off there...
me: no, it will automatically stop there, you just have to worry about when you come back.
her: what? oh crap
me: don't worry, just pull the stringy thingy and it will let you off
(draws map) right here...
her: there's a stringy thing?
at this point i was realizing that she didn't have a freaking clue about how to use the bus. I said "WHEN you get lost, call me, and i'll help you figure out where you are." (she's from denver) We were going to try and hit shopko, because the people who lived in the apartment before us, must have really really liked the shower curtain, cause they took it with them.
Let me tell you, its awkward to take a shower without a shower curtain. the water goes EVERYWHERE!
She left around noon/1 - ish , and i went off to do stuff.. loaned my dvd player and transformers dvd out to my neighbors, went and watched part of the movie with them. I came back to the apartment around midnight, and she wasn't home. i waited and 12:30 rolled around and she still wasn't home. I called her cell phone 3 times, and sent her text messages. She didn't respond. As far as we knew, she didn't have any friends in the area, and no boyfriend.. she's always at the apartment or work, so she wasn't going to be with them... And she wasn't wearing a jacket when she left either.
So i called the police, filed a possible missing person report.
"how long have you known her?"
um.. a week and a half.....
"what makes you think she's lost?"
um, she was clueless about the bus system, and she was supposed to be back hours ago so we could go to shopko. She hasn't picked up her cell phone at all.
after getting off the phone with the dispatch, my mom called, and was asking me all about it, when i heard something outside. From my mom's perspective, this is what she heard"
"no, mom, they're going to file a temporary missing report cause she hasn't been gone long enough for it to be an endangered person report. (getting up to open the door cause i heard something outside) They're going to call me when.. YOU'RE ALIVE!!!!!! I JUST CALLED THE POLICE ON YOU. WHERE THE CRAP HAVE YOU BEEN?!"
my mom was like laura, hang up and call the police back to tell them that she's home.
The girl was freaking at work! I had no clue she worked on saturday, and i had misunderstood what was going on... I'm glad she was ok..
it was a happy story :D
Anyways.. Laugh Smile, and ALWAYS BE HAPPY...
123 days left :D
Love,
Laura
