Chris's mom ended up on the phone for a bit after the backdrop, so Chris and I watched the band play for a bit.
Chris's mom suggested that we go do the Tower of Terror. Chris is like ok, grabs my wrist and starts running to the giant tower thing in the back. At this point, I have no idea what that ride is. He's trying to get me to run faster and faster, and we get there and walk into the line. I'm making theories about what it is, and my most logical guess is that its a Haunted house of some sort:
Laura: Chris, what is this?
Chris: *looks uncomfortable* uh...
Laura: Its a haunted house isn't it? *Starts looking around*
Chris: Uh, sure.
Laura: I knew it.
I even made it on to the elevator still believing this.
Laura: Chris, does this actually go up and down?
Chris: look at the ceiling... and the floor.. do you THINK this is going up or down?
Laura: no... -__-;
Yeah.. uh huh..
Chris explained afterwards that he was getting me to run, so that I couldn't see the windows opening up on the tower, or the people screaming. Dork.
We exited, and entered the terror store. It was filled with Nightmare before Christmas stuff.. Instantly, my mind was back on Cory. "Maybe if I get him something he likes, he might talk to me again." The hope that filled me and then got crushed was unbearable. I was still trying to find ways to make my friend talk to me again, and I was considering bribes!
We made the decision to wander over to the roller coaster. And somehow made it into the Animation studios, where we found the Toy Story Zoetrope.
After being fascinated with it for a while, we walked out, and ran into a friend of Chris's mom. I was cold, and Chris had extended his elbow so that I could take it and use body warmth to stay warm for a bit. Leslie had to use the bathroom, leaving us there with the guy we didn't know. This is how the conversation went:
Guy: So... you're leslie's kid...
Chris: Yup.
Guy: So you guys were at BYU?
Chris: Uh, i am, she's going to...
Guy: Are you guys moving out here?
Chris: Um.
At this point Leslie came back, and I leaned in towards Chris and said quietly, "He thinks we're dating/married" Chris looked at me and said.. "this could be fun" and proceeded to take my hand. We spent the rest of the evening with the dude and his mom following behind us holding hands, and saying words like "snuggle poo" and greatly over exaggerating a potential relationship with each other. We went to stand in line for the roller coaster. At this point, I'm really cold... cold enough that my shivering was enough to get Chris's attention, and halfway through the line, he had his arms around me trying to keep me warm. His mom kept giving him weird looks... but it fit in with our act anyway.
We went on the ride, in the VERY FRONT. This was probably one of the best rides I'd ever been on. What made it weird though, was the DUDE was flirting with Chris's MOM. It was weird.
After the roller coaster, the dude left, and we made our way to disneyland.. it was about 8:45 pm. The dude was gone... so... why was Chris still holding my hand? Why was he doing it in a way to hide it from his mom? It felt... natural, to hold his hand. I don't know of any other way to describe it. I actually moved in closer cause I was still cold. Now, the main plan, was to get ahold of Jenna, who lived 10 minutes away, so we could stay at her house. She was going to go to Disneyland with us the next day. She wasn't picking up. In fact, Danny wasn't picking up either, and we'd been trying to get ahold of him all day to ask and see if he wanted to go to Disney Studios. We reached Disneyland, grabbed our jackets, after which I was fine, and we waited for the firework show to start...
Probably one of the coolest things ever. If I were to tell you the fireworks were bright, it would be an understatement to how bright they were, and because the Aperture on the camera automatically closed when it got bright, you couldn't really tell from the video.
Chris's mom decided to duck out and go do some shopping, leaving me with Chris. He extended his hand, and looked and me, and I didn't see any reason not to take it, and we went to get some food. On the way there, we found that Star Tours had no line, and went and did it, followed after by pizza port, which had some REALLY good chicken fettucini. While there, we made the decision to try and book a hotel. We had NO where to stay, and NO transportation other than his mom's car, and she lived an hour away, in a bedroom with another family, so there was no room for us there either. I loaded up the iPhone, and halfway through the booking process, the phone died. Danny then suddenly became available, and I walked him through booking a hotel for me and chris. The price wasn't bad either.. 40 for a 2 bed hotel, 6 blocks away from disneyland? Shortly after the hotel was booked, guess who called? Jenna. We had already booked it, and there was nothing we could do at this point, so we got her information, relayed it to Danny so he could pick her up in the morning, and decided to use the hotel we booked as headquarters the next morning. Danny wanted to be there when the park opened, so, it seemed like an Excellent idea. We finished eating, and then proceeded to hit Space Mountain, and the Matterhorn, and then Space Mountain again 2 minutes before the park closed.
As the park closed Christopher took my hand and pulled me through deeper into the park, as everyone was trying to leave.
Let me just say, that the park, when its dark, and its midnight, is AMAZINGLY cool. Everything's lit up. You can't see this on weekdays... The park closes at 8. He took me through fairy land. (THIS WAS COOL!) and we figured out that there were little lasers everywhere, and that's what was making the glowy stuff. He took me to see the castle all lit up, and then, took me over to Snow White's wishing well. It was dark, except for the light from the castle, and stuff reflecting off the water in the moat, and there was NO one around. No noise other than the little waterfall coming off the rocks. I pulled out a penny from my wallet thing I was carrying, made my wish, and dropped it into the well.
I turned around, to see Chris standing right there in front of me. We're about the same height.. he MIGHT be about half an inch taller than I am. Somewhere in there. We're close enough in height that when I wear heels, it throws EVERYTHING off. Everything looks weird, Chris becomes too short, and its a deathly noticeable attribute for both of us. In any case, it wasn't hard to suddenly see his eyes right in front of mine. He reached his hand up and cupped my neck, and using his thumb, lifted my chin ever so slightly, and leaned in to kiss me. My arm came naturally up to his neck, and his other arm moved to the small of my back.
I'm not going to compare kisses. That's a bad idea in and of its self. But I'm going to state, that this one was pretty nice. I never figured him to be a romantic. At all.
Now, I DO have to point something out.
A couple weeks prior to this, I ended up at Chris's place kind of in tears. I was mad because every boy I was showing interest in, would make comments about my boob size, or how apparently 'curvacious' my body is. [note: I do not see these things the way other people state. I do not see myself as overly gorgeous, or that my body shape and size are even something that someone might fantasize about...There are several attributes about me, and the way I look combined with the psychological damage Cory did, that makes me see myself as NOT beautiful. Not that I think I'm rock ugly though.] These boys only wanted me for one thing. And it wasn't for who I was. And I was growing tired of people trying to use me, I was confused about even why. I was sad because I didn't know how I felt about certain people, or whatever... and Chris, after pulling me into a hug, mumbled something, and when i asked him to repeat it, he wouldn't. What he didn't know, was that I had heard him. "Yeah, and I'm not so sure how I feel about my interest levels in you either... "
Weeks before this all happened, he was interested. This wasn't just a "oh boy, he held my hand and now he's going to kiss me' situation. I think he'd been biding his time. He's shy.. he knew I had a thing for Danny, I was attempting to push myself back into the life of my ex boyfriend, and was going on dates with another ex of mine. Poor Chris. I had no idea, and at the time he said what he said, I didn't understand him.
So back to the kiss. We kissed for a bit, until I could hear a guard coming down the tunnel, and we walked back towards the main street.
The next movie.. references this movie:
This is the next movie:
I think, our favorite part of the night (besides the kissing part), was at 41 seconds. We quoted that for the rest of the week..
We hooked back up with Chris's mom, and were the LAST people to leave the park. no joke. 1:30 am was when we left. The park closed at 12:00. We grabbed the tram. And got back to the parking garage.
This picture was taken:
Which was a replica of this one:
Which had the caption: Chris had a long day, he couldn't quite make it to the car.
We made it to the EXTREMELY nice hotel, and proceeded to crash on the beds shortly after Leslie left.... After talking for a couple hours about everything OTHER than the thing that needed to be talked about, we fell asleep around 4:30... which was wonderful concerning the fact that we needed to wake up and be ready to go around 9... but we had to be up in time so we could shower and stuffs....
And that was day 2.
