[ Rivals ]
One of the things I love seeing in the world, is rivals, or people who have been battling each other for years suddenly stand up for each other when they both have something to believe in.
A good example is in Harry Potter 7, when Voldemort makes the Hogwarts children choose their lives over Harry Potter:
Then a figure rose from the Slytherin table, and he recognized Pansy Parkinson as she raised a shaking arm and screamed, "But he's there! Potter's there! Someone grab him."
Before Harry could speak, there was a massive movement. The Gryffindors in front of him had risen and stood facing, not Harry, but the Slytherins. Then the Hufflepuffs stood, and almost at the same moment, the Ravenclaws, all of them with their back to Harry, all of them looking toward Pansy instead, and Harry, awestruck and overwhelmed, saw wands emerging everywhere, pulled from beneath cloaks and from under sleeves.
I see it all the time with major corporations. You'll see half a dozen corporations openly supporting adobe with its flash against Apple and its all-mightiness. And then you'll see silent and hidden support. Like the easter egg hunt for new movies. The Star Trek movie had R2D2 in it.. did you know that? And then you have movies where enemies have been battling for years and suddenly turn to face a mutual enemy together... its epic on a scale as if Natalia and I suddenly became entangled in the same war and either one of us would lay our lives down for the other.. (which is a complete impossibility on her part i guess... its cool to think about though. )
The reason I bring this up, is because of this article. The jist? South Park and Simpons have been poking fun at each other for years. But, there was a South Park episode where the creators drew in Muhammad as a bear, and received death threats from people. What ever happened to freedom of speech?! People need to chill...
Well, the creators of Simpsons weren't going to let that stand, and instead changed their opening sequence to include a blip of support for South Park:
I don't watch either show.. well, I've watched some episodes of Simpsons and blips of south park, but I'm not an avid fan. But I'm proud of the support that they've shown each other. These are the reasons I read tech blogs. :)

Awesome post!
I watch South Park almost weekly (despite missing the last 2 episodes) but I haven't watched the Simpsons in years - thanks for posting - I probably wouldn't have known about that!
People do need to chill though - South Park literally makes fun of EVERYTHING - so it's okay for them to make fun of Christianity and Mormons, but they aren't allowed to do the same to Scientology and now Muhammad? Something doesn't seem right there...
