[ Cornflakes ]
I realize, I've never really mentioned Cornflakes.
Cornflakes is my 2 year old, 3ft long Ball python.
When I think of Cornflakes, I think of this quote from Lilo and Stitch:
This is my family. I found it, all on my own. Is little, and broken, but still good. Yeah, still good.
I originally got Cornflakes in an attempt to form a Psychological dependency. I didn't like being alone after spending every hour of every day for 6 months with my ex boyfriend. I figured if I had someone else depending on me, I wouldn't be so lame anymore.
Cornflakes likes to traumatize himself. He'll climb up on his branch, and while exploring, lean so far out the whole thing falls over, crashing to the ground... at 3 am.
Isn't he so beautiful? He's a happy snake. The only time I've ever seen him hiss or be mad is when he was shedding and I was sticking a camera in his face, and he didn't know what it was.
And he's fast too..... I usually feed him frozen mice, (much to my parents dismay) The 2nd time I fed him, it was actually an FHE activity, because my whole family was interested in watching him eat.
He's very curious, and will try and get out of his cage whenever he can at night... however he spends most of his time under a log during the day under his basking light. Originally, it was between a frog or a lizard. I wanted something that wouldn't take much time to take care of because I work full time, and I'm a college student. Then, I went and visited my upstairs neighbor, Alyse Hileman, and found a ball python in her room.... and I decided I needed a snake. (Thank you Alyse, for being there during the break up, and for giving me the ideas needed to survive. :) )
I feed him about every 3-6 weeks. I bathe him every so often, and just have to make sure the temp and humidity in his cage stay consistent. Other than that... he's good to go.
Right now he's staying at my parents. My sister Kestra ADORES him, and he'll sit on her lap forever. Most snakes don't like their head touched, but he loves it, and she can take him where ever she goes, and he's perfectly fine. He's a happy snake.

So, you found him at your neighbor's? Was it SUPPOSED to be there, or did you save them from an otherwise scary situation? :P He sounds like a nice little guy. And that video of him killing a mouse made me sing "The Circle of Life" in my head. And now I'm singing it out loud.
No. I bought him.
I just happened to get the idea from a neighbor.
