[ Birthday ]
Today is my birthday. I am 22. A year ago, I was on my way to Vegas with Cory.
I guess I thought when I wrote this, I'd make this a little more profound. You know, with things that I'll do for this next year of my life. Maybe I'll get around to it. I'm a little unmotivated at the moment.
My hard drive, containing EVERYTHING decided to fail.
My 2 best friends are gone. 7 weeks. I keep flipping out. I'm having difficulties digesting and dealing with this. I guess I shouldn't have attached myself as much as I did.
I'm sick.
I have several drafts that I started while sitting around. I'm going to finish those and get them up.
We'll see what happens this Birthday.

Happy birthday, you lovely woman. :) Waiting for your best friend(s) is so hard. Yes. I've got 16 more weeks waiting for mine. :P In the words of Linguini, "Let's do this thing!"
My drive with all my California stuff on it failed when I got home from my internship. Probably because it was three years old, survived a LA earthquake, and spent too much time in a hot car on the way back.
Do not do the freezer thing. Most of the time it does not work and sometimes it RUINS the drive. I have seen that first and second-hand...
I ended up using a data recovery service. Data recovery is quite expensive. I received quotes from about 20 companies. Of the ones that looked reputable, the lowest price I found was http://lowcostrecovery.com/
I paid $458. My drive's heads failed so they had to do a physical recovery which costs more. They got 98% of my data off. The price hurt, but it was worth not losing the memories from my entire summer.
