I... am a photomanipulator. At least, I'd like to call myself that. Everything I've learned to do in photoshop was done on my own. I took no classes, and learned everything from the internet. I'm really not that good. My issues with photomanipulation:

1. I have no idea how to finish the pictures. I can import stuff, color stuff, but usually, as far as I can tell, there is one last step that I'm missing that makes the entire photo look like everything belongs.
2. I have Ideas. They're usually not very good.
3. I give up before I get anywhere cause I get exasperated with myself, or decide there is too much work to do.

Some of the pictures are actually really good. Some of them are based on tutorials or stuff I see other people do.

Some of my best work include:

This was my first REAL manipulation. All the ones before this are crap while I was experimenting.  I however had a specific thought in mind when I did this.

^ that's me :)    I had fun taking model pictures for this... let me tell ya.

This is also me.... ^  hooray!

And we definitely cannot forget my apples.

I wish I could imagine things like this

In fact, Michelo's entire gallery is AMAZING.. I urge you to look at his art.

Slowly but surely I'm gaining talent...

I do have a deviant art....  Kikastrophe - Like always.

Also, notice the URL bar.... We are LIVE at www.kikastrophe.net

How do you get rid of the background? Whenever I try to erase it, I always have fuzzy edges around the people. Is there a trick? Do you know of a tutorial for this? I'd really love it. And for that matter, I'd love to know what other tutorials you've gone through. Thanks!

Jill,

I use the magic wand tool, and select everything you want/need. Then, make sure you feather and smooth out the edges before copying and pasting it else where. When you select the magic wand tool, it will switch the menu at the top, and you'll see a feather button, which will pull up a new dialog box. This is where the changes will be made.
